No one listens to old people...

...when it comes to marketing.

I'm hanging on to a marketing career only because my son allows me to.

I've got a few clients that I advise, to pick up a few bucks here and there but no one wants to listen to an old man talk about marketing.

Too bad, because I'm not seeing anything today that changes the rules.

You need to capture and audience, you need to engage and make that audience loyal and you have to get them to spend more money each time they come into your business environment.

Here is what has changed, the importance of the "advertising salesman".
I'm glad, salesmen to me have always been the phoneiest people in the world. I know because I was one for many years.

I quit selling when I wasn't able to deal with the lies, that I had to tell to maintain the level of income necessary to live the lifestyle.

I never made the amount of money that I was capable of because I was not capable of looking someone in the eye and lying to him / her.

Don't get me wrong, I did it, but it just never felt right.

Now thanks to my son, I don't have to tell any lies, I show them what he does, I show them how it works and allow them to make a business decision.

I like that.
